Paradoxical Undressing – Lee A Jackson

pundIt’s winter. It’s cold. Very cold. But Archroy braves the winter scenes of Tealsdale to venture into town. However, the journey is fraught with the dangers of the rapidly decreasing temperatures, which Archroy is totally unaware of.

This short story is all about the falling degrees of Archroy’s ill-fated journey into town. The idea was sparked by a small piece that I saw online somewhere about hypothermia and the symptoms which a person goes through in suffering from it.

I found it interesting and here is the outcome. The title of the story comes from one of the symptoms where a person starts to actually feel hot and strips down. So Archroy, the protagonist in this story is naked the whole time, dazed and confused in the white world of snow. He stumbled around looking to shake off his fever and hangover but the winter weather is his biggest enemy and the townsfolk are no help either.
